Early voting began on Sept. 18 at the Fairfax County Government Center, and thousands of voters have turned out since then.
Find Early Voting Locations
For now, the Fairfax County Government Center is the only place to vote early, and voting hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Early voting will not be offered this coming Saturday, Sept. 26, and currently, regular Saturday hours are not scheduled to start until Oct. 17.
Additional early voting sites will open starting Oct. 14, providing 15 locations in total including the Fairfax County Government Center.
Before you go vote, please double check the hours because they can vary depending on the location.
Here at the Franconia Governmental Center our hours are as follows:
October 14-October 31
Monday: 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Thursday: 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Friday: 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
You also do not need to submit an application to early vote, but you must be a registered voter already. It’s a good idea to check your registration status before early voting. Any registered voter can early vote at any site in the county.
The last day to vote early is Oct. 31.
Return Your Mail-In Ballot Quickly
If you know how you’re going to vote, mail back your ballot as soon as possible. Don’t delay. The best way to track whether the county has received your returned ballot is to check the state’s website.
Ballot Drop-Off Boxes
A drop-off box will be available at every early voting location (outside the voting room), and they will be available only during voting hours at these locations. Ballot drop-off boxes also will be provided at every precinct on Election Day from 6am-7pm.
At the Fairfax County Government Center, the box is located in the lobby.
There’s no need to wait in line, and a poll worker attends every box at all times.
